Governor: Weapons Collection Campaign Led to Drop of Crime Rate in S. Darfur

Khartoum - The Government of South Darfur State has announced that the campaign for collecting weapons from the citizens voluntarily has realized great successes, as the state has not registered any information on murder or looting crimes in the past period.
Governor of South Darfur State Adam Al Fakki, speaking over Omdurman Radio program yesterday, said crime in the state dropped at the rate of over 60% after the success of the weapons collection operations in the state, affirming stability of the security situations all over the state.
He affirmed that the government of the state is keen on maintaining the rule of law in collaboration with the Armed Forces and the other regular forces.
The Governor pointed out that the success of the campaign for collecting weapons also reflected positively on the agricultural season.
The campaign still continues in a smooth manner in all localities of the state till the state would be totally free of weapons, the governor said, adding that the state is now witnessing full security and stability and strong cohesion among its social components.
