JEM: SPLM Divisions Complicate African Mediation

Khartoum – Head of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) in the Kordofan region, Al-Rihaima Ismail said divisions within the SPLM had significant implications for the peace process in South Kordofan and the Blue Nile.
Ismail said that the divisions in the SPLM are that each party wants to take away the right to negotiate, which confused the African mediation in performing its role, saying  that the government has adhered to its declared cease-fire to give the SPLM an opportunity to delude into the option of peace, unite its internal ranks and name a unified delegation for negotiation, stressing that the file does not bear the conflict that is taking place in the movement, saying that any slow-down could hamper the peace process, calling on JEM president to achieve a comprehensive peace to achieve security and stability and to close the file permanently.
