Conference of Approving Sudan’s Document for Agricultural Development Kicks-off

Khartoum - The conference of approving Sudan’s document for the comprehensive programme of agricultural development in Africa  kicks off this morning with 400

participants in Al Salam Rotana Hotel in the presence of a number of representatives of the international and regional organizations like New Economic Programme for African Development (NEPAD) and Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and Intergovernmental Authority for Development (IGAD) FAO , European Union, World Bank and World Food Programme in Khartoum .
Manager of strategic Planning at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Dr, Salih Kheiralla, the National coordinator of the comprehensive programme of economic development in Africa has disclosed that Sudan has completed this plan in the year 2015 which will be presented to the international community, the African continent today in this conference to reflect Sudan’s document for implementing the comprehensive program of Agricultural Development in Africa.
He noted that the total fund allocated for this document amounts to 5.5 billion dollars where more than 65% of this cost is born by Sudan government and there is a gap of 12% in this document to be born by the donors.
Dr. Salih expected the donors to be committed to closing the gap according to the guidelines of the program noting that the comprehensive program for economic development in Africa is a continental program approved by the African leaders in the year 2003 in Mobutu Mozambique and the program is confirmed in the year 2014 in Equatorial Guinea.
