Work Ongoing to Supply Sudan Airways with 14 Planes and Nine New Steamers

Omdurman - President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir has annuonced that work is underway for provision of Sudan Airways Company with 14 planes to enable it to restore its role in air transport field as well as upgrading the capacity of sealines transport with nine steamers.
Al Bshair said while addressing the Legislature (the parliament and the states council) Monday that work is ongoing to provide Sudan Airways with 14 aeroplanes to be able to restore its role in the field of airtransport.
Al Bashir further expected expanding the transporting capacity of Sudan Railways Authority to transport around eight million tons and three million passengers by the end of the third plan of the quarter century strategy pledging to go ahead in promoting the seaports levels so that Sudan’s ports may be attractive to ships.
Al Bashir has considered the first half of the year 2016 has seen stability in financial performance despite the developments that occurred and affected the Sudanese economy and security unrest in the neighboring countries.
He outlined that state revenues have increased by 6 % up fro the same period of last year due to the efforts of electronic collection of revenues and curbing smuggling.
Al Bashir affirmed decline of inflation percentage during the same period from 21.6% down to 13% along with an increase of the country’s production from wheat up to 779 thousnads tons at an increase percentage of 36%.
He noted that Sudan’s export of living cattle throughout the first half of the year 2016 has reached 3.3 million heads of cattle representing 51.6% of the targeted export for the said year.
