UNDP Confirms Continuation of Cooperation with Sudan

Khartoum - The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has confirmed its cooperation with the Government of Sudan and the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Commission (DDR) to implement community security and stability projects throughout Sudan.
UNDP  Country Head, during laying the foundation stone of Yarmouk Basic Level School for Girls, south of Khartoum yesterday, funded by the Italian Development Agency, said that he knew all the challenges facing Yarmouk area and that laying the foundation stone for the school is an important  beginning for other projects, including projects for women and youth.
 The Italian ambassador to Khartoum said that Italy is targeting areas that need to peace and society building and that Italy had implemented the Italian hospital that has been working efficiently for some time, stressing that the selection of Mayo area as it is  20 kilometers away from Khartoum and suffers in the autumn and needs bridges and roads, and considered a model of peaceful coexistence and diversity of cultures and ethnicities, pointing out that the Sudanese society is tolerant and cooperative in order to reach the desired goals.
DDR Commissioner, Lieutenant General Salah Al-Tayeb said that laying the foundation stone for Yarmouk school is a real addition to the local community and that the renaissance of the nation is through renaissance of women, as they are the leaders of society.
Representative of Jebel Aulia Commissioner said that the area has three camps for refugees from South Sudan and neighboring African countries, who need basic services.
