Technical Meetings between Khartoum and Juba on Crossings Opening

Khartoum - (SMC) Sudan started forming a technical committee to establish arrangements for the opening of three border crossings with the State of South Sudan, including the Jouda crossing, Al-Tabun crossing, and Kosti-Juba river crossing.
Secretary-General of the Government of the White Nile State, Al-Tayeb Mohamed Abdullah said that the committee formed will hold an expanded meeting with its counterpart of South Sudan in the coming days on technical arrangements related to the zero line and buffer zone demilitarized between the two countries, indicating that the committee includes representatives of finance ministry, customs, police and intelligence, pointing out that the opening of the crossings contributes to the process of trade exchange for the flow of essential goods and benefits and facilitate the transit movement between the two countries.
The African Union announced last Wednesday the completion of the construction of three border crossings of ten between the two countries to facilitate the movement of citizens and border trade in implementation of the joint cooperation agreements.
