Moroccan-Sudanese-Bahraini Labour Union Coordination to Defend Palestinian Workers

(Anadolu) - Three trade unions from Morocco, Sudan, and Bahrain have signed a partnership and cooperation agreement

on a number of issues, including defending Palestinian workers.
The agreement was signed on Tuesday in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, between the National Labour Union in Morocco, the Sudanese Workers’ Trade Union Federation, and the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation.
The agreement, which Anadolu News Agency obtained a copy of, was signed by Abdelilah Al-Halouti, Secretary General of the National Labour Union in Morocco, Youssef Abdel Karim, President of the Sudanese Workers’ Trade Union Federation, and Yacoub Youssef Mohammed, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation.
The agreement provides for “coordination of efforts and initiatives on the Arab, African, and international levels to defend the Palestinian cause in general and Palestinian workers in countries of asylum in particular to help them overcome the legal obstacles imposed on them in some countries of asylum and to provide their working rights guaranteed by international charters and laws.”
It also provides for “taking the initiatives that contribute to alleviating the suffering of this category of the heroic Palestinian people.”
The three labour unions aim to coordinate efforts and positions in Arab and international labour union forums and conferences for the advantage of the working classes and trade labour’s work in the three countries.
They also aim to coordinate efforts and positions in various Arab and international forums on the major national issues of the three labour union’s countries, “especially its territorial integrity and security stability”.
This agreement aims at exchanging experiences and expertise in the organisational, professional, demand, right-defence fields, as well as in the culture of labour union. It also aims at launching joint work like consulting on issues of the working class as well as cooperation in the development and organisation of programs for the rehabilitation of labour unions’ staff and their training through joint training courses and programs.
