Sudan Affirms Concern with Women Empowerment

Khartoum - (Khalda Elyas) State Minister at the Ministry of Justice, Dr. Tahani Ali Tour Al-Daba, has affirmed the Sudanese government concern with women issues for their development and empowerment besides implementation of agenda that serve women’s interests such as combating poverty and realization of the goals of sustainable development.
The State Minister at the Ministry of Justice reviewed in her address to the meeting of the 37th session of the Arab Women Committee held in Tunisia the effective role of Sudanese women in building the society besides their assumption to many executive and constitutional posts, saying that they hold posts of deputy speakers of the parliament and state legislative councils.
She pointed out that the Government of Sudan has set up a unit for combatting violence against women for guaranteeing the rights of women in accordance with the constitution of the country, affirming Sudan’s commitment to the international agreements on women’s rights.
