Hassabo: Positive Indicators for Achieving Peace and Stability in Blue Nile and S. Kordofan

Khartoum - The Sudanese government announced the existence of positive indicators to achieve peace and stability in South Kordofan and Blue Nile after the major

transformation witnessed by the two areas.
Vice President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul Rahman said, during his inauguration yesterday the projects of the fourth phase of the joint mechanism between the Government of the Sudan and the Arab League to support voluntary return in the Darfur states, said that the weapon collection campaign in Darfur achieved positive results in achieving peace and stability. He stressed  the need to redouble efforts to provide the basic needs to confront the flows of returnees to their areas, praising the role played by the Arab League in supporting the peace process and stability in Sudan and the role of the United Nations and its agencies in providing the basic needs of returnees,stressing that the government formed two committees to support the process of voluntary return, where a committee was entrusted to the Ministry of the Interior to secure this return and another to support this return.
Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, Ahmed Mohamed Adam reviewed the contents of the fourth phase to support the voluntary return, pointing out that it aims to equip the service complexes in 10 states, including the five states of Darfur, Blue Nile and Eastern Sudan, at a cost of ten million dollars.
 Minister of Social Security and Development, Mashair Al-Dawalab stressed the seeking  to develop the work of the joint mechanism and coordinate the effort for the transition from relief to development and reconstruction, calling for more work within the framework of sustainable development projects, stressing that voluntary return has become a reality.
Representative of the Arab League, Ahmed Al-Samawi said that the inauguration of these projects is to support the voluntary return in Darfur, stressing that the support will continue for this return along with the initiation of other projects in the areas of agricultural development and work in capacity-building for local people and ownership of women productive projects.
