Khartoum - The Commission for Refugees has disclosed new influx of refugees to South and East Darfur States from South Sudan and Central Africa Republic due to incidents that had occurred in the two countries.
The Commissioner for Refugees, Hamad Al Jezouli, has said more than three thousands refugees have arrived in South Darfur State from Central Africa Republic besides new inflows of refugees of South Sudan at Al-Meghanis area and East Darfur, expecting further inflows of refugees at a number of areas in Darfur.
The Commissioner of Refugees, speaking to Sudan Vision, said the international support to refugees in Sudan is improving, but in a very slow manner, expecting increased support in the budget of the three coming months to face the situations at the refugee camps and rising prices.
He pointed out that a meeting was held yesterday that brought together the State Minister at the Ministry of Interior and other technical bodies in the presence of the UNHCR to discuss arrangements for the return of Sudanese refugees from Chad, affirming that some six thousands Sudanese refugees in Chad have shown desire to return to their villages in Darfur after they got assured that Darfur is now enjoying peace and stability.
The Commissioner explained that a number of sons of the Sudanese refugees in Chad had visited areas in North, Central and West Darfur and got assured on arrangements that have been made for their voluntary return, pointing out that they would embark on the transportation of the refugees in collaboration with UNHCR in March, April and May before the advent of the rainy season in Darfur.
