Al Bashir Issues Strict Directives on Medical Supplies Fund

Khartoum - President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir has directed widening the vessels and points of the National Fund for Medical Supplies for providing free and

subsidized medicine to the citizens across Sudan states.
Al Bashir made the directive while inaugurating the branches of drugs and poisons.
Al Bashir was acquainted, while chairing at the Republican Palace the meeting of medicine in the presence of the Minister of Health and the relevant ministry, with the state’s medicinal position and the required measures required for preventing medicinal shortfalls.
Minister of Health Bahar Idris Abu Garda affirmed that the meeting has underscored the fact medicine is a strategic commodity all measures were taken for availing it particularly the free medicines, the life-saving medicines and the medicines of chronic diseases.
He disclosed the inauguration of medicine monitoring cars across all the states of Sudan for effecting control of medicines.
The Minister of Health further outlined that the meeting has stressed strengthening health insurance, and shifting the subsidized and free drugs to the health insurance card, noting that the medicines of children below the age of five were included in the health insurance card in seven states, and it will be generalized to all the states.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning has defended the state's  2018 budget,  saying that it addresses people's livelihood  along with providing the services of water,  health and electricity and accessing the citizens in all the states via realizing even economic development.
