Attorney General Participates in Regional Conference on Combating Human Trafficking

Khartoum- Attorney General Omer Ahmed Mohamed and the accompanying delegation left yesterday to Sharm Al Shiekh, Egypt, to participate in the first regional conference of attorney generals in European and African continents on international judicial cooperation on investigations in cases of human trafficking and illegal migration, scheduled for September 18-20.
The Attorney General would review at the conference the efforts of Sudan in combating the crimes of human trafficking, corruption and transnational crimes.
The statement of the Attorney General before the conference would include a number of issues which are represented in the constitutional amendment that provided for establishment of the Attorney General Office and its separation from the Ministry of Justice as an independent justice body, its powers besides issuance of the Act of Combating Human Trafficking, 2014.
The statement would also focus on the establishment of the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking, which is headed by the Attorney General.
