IGAD Postpones Imposing of Sanctions on Peace Obstructers in S. Sudan

Khartoum – Council of IGAD Foreign Ministers announced the extension of the date of imposing sanctions on peace obstructers in the South Sudan

, waiting for the results of peace talks in Khartoum between the warring parties.
The African Mechanism decision came in its meeting on the side lines of the meetings of the African Union Summit in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott.
IGAD welcomed, in statement, the progress made by the warring parties in the peace talks, where the parties renewed their commitment to the cease-fire, calling on the African Union and peace partners to continue their efforts in supporting the peace process and implementing of its results in South Sudan. 
IGAD had threatened to impose sanctions on peace obstructers in South Sudan.
