The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Government and the people of Venezuela, congratulates the peoples and governments of Africa, on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the establishment of the African Union (AU) and on the World Africa Day.
Venezuela pays tribute to the great men and women such as Kwame Nkrumah, Gamal Nasser, Sdkou Toure, Julius Nyerere, and the great strugglers, including Thomas Sankara, Agostinho Neto, Amilcar Cabral, Mandela, Patrice Lumumba, Wangari Maathai, among many sons and daughters of the revolutionary Africa and protagonists of important socio-economic achievements that led to the progress of their peoples and the political sovereignty of their nations.
As an observer member of the African Union, Venezuela recognizes it as the most important organization of the continent in the pursuit of peace, unity, representation and defense of the interest of the African countries that comprise it; as well as its active and decision-making presence in multilateral organizations to find solutions that contribute to peace and global development.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela ratifies the paths of friendship and cooperation with the African countries, which have been consolidated by the President Nicolas Maduro and sown with profound love by Commander Hugo Chavez Frías, who always affirmed that the African continent was the real Motherland, beacon of the peoples that fight for their freedom and independence with courage and determination.
Congratulations to Africa!
