International Conference on Oilseeds Opens Sunday

Khartoum- The Fourth International Conference on Oilseeds, which is organized by the Association of Chambers of Commerce and the National Exporters Chamber, opens session at Corinthia Hotel in Khartoum next Sunday as the conference comes as part of the vision of the private sector to boost the Sudanese exports and increasing production.
Chairman of Edible Oil Chamber Mohamed Abbas affirmed in a statement to Sudan Vision yesterday that more than 100 companies from India, China, Ethiopia, Turkey, east and west African countries and international companies would participate in the conference.
He added that the program of the two-day conference includes a visit to Gadarif State by the conferees that would cover crop markets, grains silo and plants for processing export crops, expecting that production of sesame crop for this year would reach 600,000-700,000 tons.
Meanwhile, a workshop organized by Sudan Foundation prior to the conference on the edible oil industry in Sudan: Challenges and future prospects, called in its recommendations for mapping out a clear strategy for increasing production of oilseeds in Sudan, and encouraging the private sector in this connection.
