Egypt: Nile Water Agreement Is the Cornerstone of Joint Relations with Sudan

Khartoum - Sudan has reiterated its commitment towards Water Nile Agreement to the letter to reflect the water technical relations with Egypt in the regional and international forums.
Minister of Water Resources, Irrigation and Electricity, Eng. Consultant Khidir Gasm Al-Seed lauded the efforts of the permanent joint technical corporation on Nile water between the two countries.
He welcomed, while addressing the concluding session of the round of talks yesterday in Khartoum, the establishment of the modern information centre, affirming support to the corporation in resolving all obstacles, affirming that the attendance of the Egyptian Minister of Water Resources in the concluding session is but an evidence to the importance of the works of the corporation which is considered the main lifeline of joint work between the two countries.
For his part, Egyptian Minister of Water Resources, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Atti affirmed the continuation of cooperation in all technical aspects, adding that the Nile Waters Agreement represents the cornerstone of the joint relations between Khartoum and Cairo.
It is worth noting that the meeting of the 58th round of the joint permanent technical corporation meetings convened in Khartoum last Wednesday and discussed the agendas which include researches of reducing the waste in Upper Nile and the technical cooperation besides expanding the activities of the corporation.
