Joint Fact-Finding Committee Formed on Shooting Incident in Kutum

Al-Fasher – (SUNA) Kutum Locality, in North Darfur State, announced the formation of a joint fact-finding committee to investigate the regretful shooting incident that took place last Friday, in the market of Kutum Market, which killed a soldier of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and wounded seven others including four Military personnel.
The Commissioner of Kutum Locality and the Head of the Local Security Committee, Brigadier-Police, Mohammed Mohammed Ahmed Al-Haj, said, Sunday, in a press statement that Ahmed Suleiman, from the 22nd Infantry Division, fired shots randomly,  at the Kutum market, injuring five people of the RSF an individual of the Infantry command in Kutum and three citizens. He added that the injured were evacuated to Kutum Hospital, immediately, and were later evacuated by helicopter to El Fasher for further medical care.
The Commissioner has underlined that the perpetrator was captured and all the necessary legal procedures were taken, stressing that the security situation is under full control.
He added that the Governor of North Darfur State, Sharif Mohammad Abad Samouh, Head of the state security Committee, had been following the situation, closely and until the wounded evacuated to El Fasher.
