Parliamentary Committee on Security Affirms Darfur States Free of Armed Movements

Khartoum - (SUNA) Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Security and Defense Maj. Gen. Al-Hadi Adam Hamid has affirmed that Darfur states are free of armed movements, referring to existence of sleeping cells for the movements, which carry out some acts to indicate their presence.
He said in a press statement at the parliament Monday that the reply of the State Minister the Ministry of Defense to the urgent query presented by MP Siham Hassan Hassaballah of the National Liberation and Justice Party on Jebel Marra incidents was convincing, adding that the minister presented a detailed report on the incidents that happened in Nertati by the sleeping cells that belong to Abdul-Wahid Mohamed Nur, claiming the lives of a man and a woman.
The chairman of the parliamentary committee explained that there is a presidential decree on cease-fire and the decision on weapons collection, referring to the importance of continuation of the weapons collection operation.
He explained that the movements carry out looting operations such as the incidents that occurred at Tawila area months ago.
