Monitoring Points in S. Kordofan to Prevent Gold Smuggling to S. Sudan

Khartoum - (SMC) South Kordofan State government has announced strict controls and measures to prevent the smuggling of gold to South Sudan and neighboring states
Commissioner of the State Mining Commission, Dr. Abdul Rahman Abdullah Korina said that the controls include the placement of control points at the border crossings and punish traders who try to smuggle minerals outside the state, noting that the state has formed committees to regulate gold markets in some localities of the state in addition to the organization of traditional mining, pointing out that many companies expressed their desire to Investment in minerals after stability in the state, adding that they held intensive meetings to provide opportunities for gold exploration companies to work in the state.
