Parliament Embarks on Amending Criminal Law

Omdurman- Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Dr. Badriya Suleiman has affirmed in a workshop organized by the Legislations and Justice Committee of the parliament

on a bill on Criminal Procedure Act, 1991, Amendments 2017 that the parliament gives consideration to the plaintiff and the accused in the criminal amendments.
The Deputy Speaker added that the interventions made in the workshop have affirmed the need for making new amendments to the Criminal Law, indicating that the law comes to meet a need by the society, saying that after amending the Constitution in 2016, the parliament received a number of law bills, a matter that shows need for amendments and addition.
The Chairman of Legislations and Justice Committee at the National Assembly Osman Adam Nimir, on his part, affirmed that amending the law is necessitated by the state reform program to facilitate litigation.
