Khartoum- President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir received at the Republican Palace Thursday Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS)
Dr. Hazim Abdul-Gadir, who briefed him on the bank’s plan for provision of foreign exchange for importation of basic commodities and retrieving proceeds of exports from abroad.
The meeting was attended by State Minister at the Ministry of Finance Dr. Abdul-Rahman Dirrar.
The President of the Republic was briefed on the facilities that have been extended by some banks abroad for the importation of gasoline, wheat and medicines.
CBOS Governor explained in a press statement that the meeting discussed the executive steps for controlling liquidity and the procedures pertinent to maintaining stability of the exchange rate during the coming period.
Abdul-Gadir affirmed that all proceeds of exports that have been received from abroad as a result of the recent procedures would be pumped into the commercial banks to be used for importation operations through the private sector.
