Khartoum - Al-Fula Electricity Station has entered into the implementation stage Sunday with the receipt of tender envelopes
by the application of six companies including US General Electric, Harbin and Orjaina of China and the Turkish Shellik and Assauer Companies as well as the CBI International Group. The State Minister at the Ministry of Water Resources, Irrigation and Electricity Ibrahim Hamad Ali Al-Tom said that Al-Fula Electricity Station would create a great movement in production and productivity due to the availability of the resources in the West Kordofan State, describing the receipt of tender envelopes as an important step. Al-Tom revealed that the ministry's strategy targeted connection of all the states of Sudan to the electricity national network, particularly Darfur states, promising completion of Abu Zabad Electricity Station at the end of this year besides continuation of work in Babanousa and Adela stations. For his part, the Head of the Electricity Division at the Energy Committee of the National Assembly Dr. Abdul-Rahim Issa Mohamed said that the electricity of Al-Fula remained a dream for several years, pointing to the importance of energy in the mobilization of production sectors, especially agricultural and industrial, adding that the Ministry of Electricity has adopted the implementation of vital projects in the support of the country's national economy. Meanwhile, the General Manager of the Thermal Generating Company Eng. Abdul-Aziz Hamid Al-Tayib said that the Al-Fula Electricity Station would produce 450 MW through a dual cycle using the gas associated with oil production operations in the area, referring to the great role that the station will play in supporting the stability and expansion of the national electricity grid during the coming period.
